The film that set the bar on grounding spin-offs. This dark yet comedic critique of social inequality imagines a world where a small handful of elite entities maintain power by ensuring that everyone else depends on them for their very existence. The present is prior to the past, with predictably hilarious results. While it was considered fundamental watching in its day, in retrospect critics have deemed it derivative. 3 stars.
